July Brain Software | How My Time Is “Book”Ed

I love to read a good book. Reading and listening to books is how I install new software in my brain. I’m addicted.

Have you heard the quote, “What you read says a lot about who you are?” I’m hoping this isn’t 100% accurate because when I’m not reading/listening to leadership and wellness books I truly enjoy a good suspense or mystery novel. Check out my favorite books!

All-Star Favorites – Fiction and Nonfiction

Book: Getting More

Getting More | Stuart Diamond

Thanks to my wonderful friend Kim Harb……. who suggested I read “Getting More.” Getting More is the perfect book for everyone. It teaches you how to be a more effective negotiator for everything. This is a must read and has tons of takeaways well worth your time.

Book Review

“I’m not trying to hit home runs in negotiations. I’m trying to get one extra hit every nine games. It’s a good lesson for negotiation, and a good lesson for life. A few incremental improvements and you will be fabulously more successful.”

Book: The Four Winds

The Four Winds | Kristin Hannah

A beautiful story about a family and what it takes to survive. Great read for vacation.

“We draw our strength from the very despair in which we have been forced to live. We shall endure.”

What Book I’m Currently Reading

Book: Knowing isn't doing

Knowing Isn’t Doing | Rod Santomassimo

Love this book, especially for my @CREFAM in Commercial Real Estate. The title caught my eye right away and states the truth for so many of us.

Book Review

“Turn the chaos and confusion into clarity and confidence.”

Fanatical Prospecting | Jeb Blount

I am loving this book. It’s a great motivator to pick up the phone, eat the frog, and reminds you that your effort will pay off.

The 10 Big Ideas Discussed in “Fanatical Prospecting” by Jeb Blount

“Here is the brutal reality. If you don’t have a plan, you will become a part of someone else’s plan. You can either take control of your life or someone else will use you to enhance theirs. It’s your choice.”

The Gift | Dr. Edith Eva Eger

Quite a few friends recommend I read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love her story and how she learned through experience.

Book Summary

“Freedom is a lifetime practice—a choice we get to make again and again each day.”

What Is On Deck

Winning | Tim S. Grover

Don’t we all want to win? In this book, mindset is everything. Grover spent decades working with elite competitors and has a lot of great insight and advice to share.

Book’s Main Ideas

“Crave the result so intensely that the work is irrelevant.”
